1. Bottle Beach viewpoint

 

Bottle Beach viewpoint is one of the most isolated you can find on Koh Phangan but also one of the most popular, so you can encounter a small crowd, especially at popular times like sunset. However, with such a breathtaking view you will forget about everyone around and just enjoy! From the top, you can see the turquoise water of the hidden Bottle Beach, the dense jungle of Koh Phangan, and the vastness of the sea.

Location: the viewpoint faces north and is located in an isolated part of the island. You should head towards Bottle Beach and go to the end of the paved road, where you will find enough space to park your bike or car (be sure to have enough gasoline as it might be difficult to find it in that part of the island!). From the parking point, it is only a 15-20-minute walk through the jungle along a well-visible path.

2. Wat Khao Tham viewpoint

 

Wat Khao Tham viewpoint is a quiet place with an incredible view to the southwest right by the temple! It offers a great observation deck to see Thong Sala, the islands nearby, and the amazing colors of the sea. The most underrated viewpoint of Koh Phangan will not leave you disappointed and the peacefulness of the Wat Khao Tham temple will only make your experience even more unforgettable.

Location: the viewpoint is part of Wat Khao Tham which is located very close to Thong Sala and can be easily found on maps. The temple has parking space and there is no need to climb anywhere.

3. Dom Sila viewpoint

 

The name comes from the idea of a spectacular rock that dominates the surroundings and indeed the rocky viewpoint allows the visitors to see the green ocean of the Koh Phangan’s jungle and a variety of islands like Koh Samui and Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park. The viewpoint is part of the Phaeng waterfall circuit in Than Sadet Koh Phangan National Park, so after a challenging hike through the trees and roots you can refresh yourself in the cool water of multiple waterfalls.

Location: it takes only about 10 minutes to drive to the National Park entrance from the center of Thong Sala. At the entrance, you will find a large parking, restrooms, wifi, a small shop with beverages, and the National Park office.

Entrance fee: foreigners have to pay 100 baht per person to enter the Koh Phangan National Park (50 baht for children), and the park is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

 

 

4. Khao Ra

 

The viewpoint with scenic scenery is situated in the northern part of Koh Phangan at an altitude of 627 meters above sea level. Even for experienced travelers, this 3-kilometer hike might be demanding and take 1-3 hours one way (depending on your skills) because of the heat and humidity of the jungle and the path full of tree roots. Nevertheless, the visitors will be rewarded with an impressive view all over Koh Pangan and the nearby islands! Moreover, after this challenge, you can relax in the Khao Ra waterfall with a fresh coconut.

Location: the hike starts from Khao Ra waterfall and the parking is located a bit before the entrance. At the entrance, it is possible to buy various beverages and connect to wifi. Opening hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

5. Thong Nai Pan viewpoint

 

This isolated spot between two beaches gives you an opportunity to relax in a small “garden house”. On your way, you will have a chance to see the Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach and then from the top, you can observe the Thong Nai Pan Beach and its blue water. Take some snacks and have lunch with an amazing view!

Location: head to the Wat Thong Nai Pan temple with an unusual Bottle Stupa and next to it you’ll see a sign to the viewpoint. The first part goes along narrow stairs and then you enter the jungle. The walk can be challenging but there is plenty of place to have some rest.

6. Mae Haad Tree House

This spot is a bar and restaurant with an incredible view of Koh Ma Beach. You can enjoy snacks, tasty dishes and even the swimming pool with a breathtaking view. Enjoy the place to relax and make great memories!

Location: head for Koh Ma beach, before you reach the beach you will turn right, you will see a sign that says Tree House. You can go there by scooter but be careful of the steep climb to get there.
